I have had the privilege of working with a range of practitioners and artist-led organisations, developing my practice across textile, fibre and stitching with print and natural dying explorations. This has included soft sculpture, machine embroidery, mixed media stitching, natural dyeing processes and printmaking, alongside an ongoing focus on repurposed materials and found object textile work.

I worked with Shiori Naruse at Incubate Printmaking, exploring natural dyeing processes and how pigment can be drawn from organic materials. I also worked with Deb Cooper through NEATA (Newcastle Embroidery and Textile Art), developing approaches to scrap dyeing using natural food-based dyes and considering how waste materials can be reactivated through process.

I developed screenprint techniques through abstract collage at Northern Print, and expanded my machine-based textile skills at Centre Front Studio, building confidence in combining structured and intuitive making approaches.

Alongside this, I spent time in peer exchange with Claire Ong, a fellow NEATA artist, sharing ideas, processes and approaches to textile practice in a supportive, artist-led context.

This period of research and development has allowed me to deepen my material understanding, particularly in relation to sustainability, tactility and the potential of textiles to hold and communicate layered experiences.
