In January 2022 Rachel engaged a group of young adults studying at Evolve College, Ripon, in Creative Conversations about Fairness. An artist film presentation and installation of the conversations and ideas produced by the group was unveiled during Sights and Sounds of Ripon 2022 in the Ripon Workhouse Museum and is currently on display as part of the museum’s collection.

The installation includes a number of engagement opportunities in response to the Creative Conversations theme of Fairness. Join the conversation and contribute to the artistic response through an activity titled “Building a Fairer Society.” There are also illustration and colouring activities for all ages on the theme of Fairness, considering past residents of Ripon Workhouse and present day understandings of social justice and poverty.

Testimonial:
Rachel is both a talented artist and facilitator who has a unique ability to give a voice to the young adults involved in the project and empower them to realise their vision. Her excellent organisational skills meant every detail of the workshops and the installation were taken care of and therefore ran very smoothly. Her flexibility, calmness and problem-solving abilities meant that every problem we faced was dealt with efficiently and creatively resulting in a great experience for the organisation and the group of young people. Having her work on the project definitely made my job easier and I thoroughly enjoyed working with her. – Dr Laura Allan, Community Coordinator, Ripon Museum Trust.
